Giving Jalen Brunson fits in Team USA scrimmages certainly won’t hurt it.

Payton Pritchard needs to do everything he can this season to raise his profile as he heads towards the end of his current contract, and playing for the Team USA scrimmage team to help prepare the US National Team for the 2023 FIBA World Cup is one avenue the Oregon native has chosen to such an end.

It certainly did not hurt when a clip got out of Pritchard impressively outplaying New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson during a Team USA select scrimmage, showcasing his skills and potential to prospective employers in future seasons, including, of course, the Boston Celtics.

Despite tough competition in the guard rotation, Pritchard can be a valuable asset to the Celtics this coming season, and his situation heading into Boston’s 2023-24 campaign is one of the few lingering issues needing clarification about this roster.

The hosts of the “How Bout! Them Celtics!” podcast recently convened to talk over the Oregon alum’s season to come; check out the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say.
