What we learned in the Cardinals’ 36-26 loss to the 49ers

This was a tough loss to take after starting so well. The defense continues to be horrific.

The Arizona Cardinals lost their fourth straight game on Sunday, falling to the San Francisco 49ers 36-26 on the road. They built a 16-0 first-half lead and it disappeared.

They are now 3-7-1 heading into their bye week.

What did we learn in the loss?

David Johnson has been benched

Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

Kliff Kingsbury said it would be running back by committee. It wasn’t. Kenyan Drake started the game. David Johnson got seven first-half snaps and didn’t appear to get any playing time in the second half.

Johnson did not even get to touch the ball.

He has gone from workhorse to benchwarmer. This doesn’t look good.
