What we learned as Rutgers football dominates Indiana on the road

Rutgers football got a big win on Saturday at Indiana.

It was a big afternoon for Rutgers football, who bounced back from last Saturday’s big loss to Wisconsin for a statement win this weekend. Rutgers played stifling, ball-hawking defense and was efficient on offense in a 38-3 win at Indiana.

With the win, Rutgers improves to 5-5 (2-5 Big Ten) and have won two of their last three games. The loss sees Indiana, who finished last season ranked No. 12, drop to 2-8 (0-7 Big Ten).

Rutgers forced six turnovers and physically imposed their will on Indiana for much of the game, improving to 5-5 (2-5 Big Ten). Indiana is now 2-8 (0-7 Big Ten). Off the turnovers, Rutgers scored 17 points.

Quarterback Noah Vedral was 8-of-16 for 84 passing yards. He had a fourth-quarter touchdown run to put the game away for the Scarlet Knights.

Running back Isaih Pacheco was solid was 67 rushing yards on 19 carries for two touchdowns.

With the win, Rutgers is now one game away from being bowl eligible for the first time since 2014.
