While plenty of ink has been spilled on Hall of Famer Larry Bird‘s career as a pro and his legendary battles against Earvin “Magic” Johnson in college, not as much attention has been paid to the iconic Boston Celtics small forward’s basketball life before he was on the national radar.
Certainly nothing like the press modern-day basketball phenoms get anyway, but that leaves us wondering what was The Hick From French Lick like as a high school player? In an interview from “The Dan Patrick Show” dating back to 2015, Bird shed some light on his high school days and early career, as well as what it was like to play in the NBA in the early 1980s.
