What was Bobby Wagner’s advice for the Commanders after tough loss to Steelers?

Bobby Wagner and his teammates already looking ahead to Thursday night.

On Sunday, the Washington Commanders lost a heartbreaker to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 28-27, to end their three-game winning streak. It’s good to have a veteran like Bobby Wagner in your locker room when you lose a heartbreaker like that.

After Washington’s loss, which featured several mistakes and some questionable officiating, the future Hall of Fame linebacker spoke to the media after the game and kept things in perspective.

“This is part of the game,” Wagner said when questioned about what he tells younger players who’ve never experienced an NFL loss like the one on Sunday.

“When you lose a game like this, sometimes it’s a blessing to have that Thursday game cause you don’t have to wait as long to get back on the field and right some of those wrongs, and so, understand where we’re at, understand the things that we’re doing we can fix and it’s on us to fix them.”

It was a difficult loss for the Commanders, who came into Week 10 as winners of three in a row and seven of eight. However, those tough losses can sometimes benefit teams later in the season.

Washington has a date on Thursday Night Football in Philadelphia against the Eagles.
