What veteran talent is out at ESPN?

Trey WIngo started at ESPN in 1997 and his run with the network is heading toward a conclusion.

Trey Wingo is out at ESPN, per a report.

The longtime talent, one of the most familiar names at the network was let go, according to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post.

Per the report:

Wingo started the radio removal process on his own by telling network executives he no longer wanted to rise early for the program. This was prior to the pandemic, when ESPN may have had more opportunities for someone like Wingo.

It is unclear what Wingo will do next, as overtures to join NFL Network, his preferred destination, have been unsuccessful thus far, according to sources. He has nearly 1 million followers on Twitter.

Wingo’s contract expires at the end of 2020. Wingo has been with ESPN since 1997. He became a lead on NFL Live, the NFL Draft and radio before his show with Mike Golic was recently taken off the air.
