What to know from Packers’ first injury report of Week 14 vs. Lions

Things to know from the Packers’ first injury report before playing the Lions in Week 14.

The Green Bay Packers released the team’s first injury report of Week 14 on Monday. The team will release two more injury reports, including a final injury report on Wednesday with official playing status designations before Thursday night’s showdown with the Detroit Lions.

Here’s everything to know from the Packers’ first injury report of Week 14:

Who didn’t participate?

Three players didn’t practice Monday, including one surprise. Linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring) and cornerback Corey Ballentine (knee) didn’t practice for the second straight day (Packers practiced on Sunday). However, the Packers were also without starting left guard Elgton Jenkins, and it wasn’t for veteran rest. He has a knee injury and didn’t participate at all Monday.

Any new injuries to know?

Jenkins’ knee injury appears to be new and is one to monitor the rest of the week. Ballentine injured his knee on the opening kickoff last Thursday night and didn’t return. The Packers listed Josh Jacobs as limited with a calf injury he wasn’t listed with last week. Defensive end Arron Mosby was evaluated for a concussion coming out of last week but was a full participant on Monday. Defensive lineman Colby Wooden was once again limited with a shoulder injury after not appearing on the injury report last week.

Who are the injured players to watch this week?

Cornerback Jaire Alexander returned to practice Sunday and was once again available on Tuesday, potentially opening the door for his return. Receiver Romeo Doubs practiced in a limited capacity but still hasn’t officially cleared concussion protocol. Cooper could be in danger of missing his third consecutive game, while Jenkins must be monitored on Tuesday and Wednesday.

What’s to know from Lions injury report?

The Lions listed six players, and four didn’t practice Monday. Left tackle Taylor Decker (knee), defensive end Josh Paschal (knee), defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike (hamstring) and defensive lineman DJ Reader (shoulder) weren’t available. Cornerback Carlton Davis (knee) was limited. The Lions’ injured reserve list includes defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, linebacker Malcolm Rodriquez, linebacker Alex Anzalone, cornerback Ennis Rakestraw, linebacker Derrick Barnes, defensive end John Cominsky, defensive end Marcus Davenport, linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin, safety Ifeatu Melifonwu, receiver Kalif Raymond and defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo.
