What to know from Colts first Week 9 injury report vs Vikings

Ahead of their Sunday night matchup with Minnesota, the Colts released their first injury report of the week on Wednesday. Here’s what to know.

The Indianapolis Colts were back on the practice field on Wednesday in preparation for their primetime matchup with the Vikings and with a new starting quarterback in Joe Flacco.

Following practice, the Colts released their first injury report of the week. Let’s take a look at what you need to know.

– Among those who did not practice were Josh Downs (toe), Ryan Kelly (calf/knee), Michael Pittman Jr. (back), and Braden Smith (knee). For what it’s worth the last few weeks all four of these players haven’t practiced on Wednesday but have played on Sunday. More than anything, this seems like a way to manage each player’s workload, making sure they are fresh for game-day, but we will see what happens the remainder of the week.

– Left tackle Bernhard Raimann also did not practice. He is currently in concussion protocol. Raimann played every offensive snap on Sunday in Houston, but reported concussion-like symptoms afterward. He cannot play until he is out of protocols.

– Genard Avery (foot) was a full participant after missing all of last week and was ruled out against Houston. When the defensive end position has been healthy, Avery has been inactive on Sundays.

– Anthony Richardson was a full participant. He is listed as having a left wrist and left shoulder injuries. Before practice, Richardson spoke with the media for the first time since he’s been benched.
