With a win on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, the Tennessee Titans can start the year 3-0 against AFC South opponents. Last year, the Titans went 5-1 against the division en route to an 11-5 record, matching Indianapolis’ record as well.
The Colts enter this matchup with a 3-4 record, but they have won their last two games as quarterback Carson Wentz looks to be recovered from two sprained ankles.
The Titans have won three consecutive games, including two over the Bills and Chiefs, but safety Kevin Byard knows the importance of winning divisional games.
“All the great coaches that I’ve ever heard talk about the more and more you win, the bigger the games get,” Byard said before practice on Wednesday. “I think this game is bigger, if not bigger than the rest of the two games we just played because at the end of the day, if we beat [the Colts], obviously we get more ahead in the division and put them a little farther back. So this is a huge game for us, in my opinion, a must-win.”
Aside from Byard, here’s what else the Titans are saying entering their Week 8 contest against Indianapolis.
