The Tennessee Titans will get their introduction to Indianapolis Colts rookie signal-caller Anthony Richardson when the two teams meet at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.
While he’s no doubt had some struggles throwing the football, Richardson has shown some promise, also, especially when it comes to his ability to make plays with his legs.
Titans cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting compared him to Cam Newton.
“The sky’s the limit for Anthony Richardson, just the same as it was for Cam Newton,” SMB said, per ESPN’s Turron Davenport. “The size, the capability, the athleticism is all accurate. But I think the structure — a lot of the [run-pass option] style offense utilizes his skill set, so they’re similar in that way.”
“You have to cover for longer than what you anticipate,” the Titans veteran cornerback added. “Usually in a play you cover for like four seconds. But with him extending plays, sometimes you have to cover for more than five seconds. So you plaster to your man.”
Now, a look at what else the Titans had to say about Richardson and the Colts ahead of Week 5.
