On Tuesday evening the committee released the latest edition of the College Football Playoff rankings. The LSU Tigers moved up to No. 6 after their win over Arkansas. The loss by Oregon to Washington paved the way for the Bayou Bengals.
As it has been the case for several weeks now, Brian Kelly and the Tigers control their own destiny. Wins over UAB, Texas A&M, and Georgia in the SEC title game would likely get them into the playoffs. It would be difficult to keep the SEC champions out of the tournament despite having two losses.
There is still plenty of football left as Selection Sunday is three weeks away. After the polls were released, I put together the composite top 25 poll which factors in each of the three major polls. Each team would receive points from each poll (AP, Coaches, CFP) based on their placement. The No. 1 team received 25 points. The number drops all the way to one point for the No. 25 spot.
This is what the combined polls would look like as we head into Week 12 of the 2022 college football season.
