What should the Vikings do about their first-round pick?

With the 25th overall pick in the NFL Draft, who do you think the Vikings should take?

It almost seems like a lock that LSU quarterback Joe Burrow will go to the Bengals. Ohio State’s edge rusher Chase Young seems like the next clear candidate to come off the board, going to the Redskins.

But when it comes to the Vikings, what position their draftee will be is still very much up in the air. It seems like the main options, depending on how restructured deals and cuts work out with the salary cap, are offensive line, defensive back and edge rusher.

There has also been some speculation about Stefon Diggs possibly getting traded, which might lead to the Vikings wanting to take a wide receiver. For Diggs’ talent, the team could get a great player in return or good picks, but I still think it would be hard to make a deal work, so hopefully he doesn’t demand a trade. He has been suspicious on social media, though.

The Vikings have some options for drafting different position groups. It would be a good idea to re-sign Everson Griffen, but there’s also a possibility that Minnesota could get a solid edge rusher in the draft. If Griffen is commanding a high price in free agency, which he might, then it seems smart to replace him in the draft. If edge rusher Yetur Gross-Matos is still available, I think the Vikings should take him, unless they end up re-signing Griffen.

If Griffen is re-signed, I would say that the team needs to focus on cornerback or offensive tackle. If Andrew Thomas falls to pick No. 25, the Vikings have to take him. Otherwise, corner offers plenty of value this year with Alabama’s Trevon Diggs or Florida’s C.J. Henderson both possibly being available late.
