The Boston Celtics are facing important decisions in the offseason, particularly regarding star forward Jaylen Brown, who is eligible for a supermax extension.
Brown had a strong offensive season and earned second-team All-NBA honors, making him eligible for a contract for five years that is projected at $285.6 million.
However, Brown’s consistency and basketball IQ still need improvement. The Celtics have the option to either pay both Brown and Jayson Tatum both supermax deals, limiting their roster flexibility, or explore trades for Brown to prioritize depth and reliable shooting. Re-signing the Georgia native is a top priority for Tatum and team president Brad Stevens, but it remains unclear how ownership feels about such a prospect.
