Wednesday was a fantastic day for the Penn State football program with the official signing of the bulk of its impressive Class of 2022. But there was one somewhat notable omission from Penn State’s confirmed list of signees on Wednesday.
Tyrece Mills, a JUCO transfer from Lackawanna College, was not listed among Penn State’s confirmed signed players on Wednesday. According to a report from Lions 247, there is no need to push any panic buttons just yet, as it seems Mills is working through a couple of hangups with his transfer process from Lackawanna College and Penn State. Mills confirmed to Lions 247 he will not be signing with Penn State in December.
But fear not, because Mills still has every intention of signing with Penn State in the Class of 2022. It will just be at a later time, during the traditional signing period.
“I will be signing the next Signing Day in February,” Mills said to Lions 247.
So there you have it. While Mills may miss out on being a part of the fun in the early signing period, the long-term view still appears to be on track for him and for Penn State. While he would be missing out on spring practices, his experience as a JUCO player should allow for him to have a relatively smooth transition when he does arrive at Penn State later on.
