ATLANTA — Oklahoma arrived on Monday in Atlanta for its College Football Playoff semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl.

Almost right off the bus, the Sooners made their initial media appearance ahead of the game.

Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley confirmed and talked about the suspensions and ramifications of them for Ronnie Perkins, Rhamondre Stevenson and Trejan Bridges. He was unsure of Delarrin Turner-Yell’s status despite a report that he broke his collarbone and would be out.

He was asked about his upcoming opponent in LSU, who is led by head coach Ed Orgeron.

Here is what Riley had to say about the top-ranked Tigers.

On LSU being similar offensively to Oklahoma, teams they faced:

“Sure, there’s comparisons scheme-wise especially in this league historically. When you look at them offensively there’s a lot of comparisons scheme-wise, but they’re unique in their own ways. It’s a combination of the scheme and the players they have. We know it’s going to be two really good football teams going at it. We’re here for a reason, they’re here for a reason. So it’s gonna be fun.”

On LSU’s running backs if Clyde Edwards-Helaire doesn’t play:

“We have. To give them credit it doesn’t look like a huge dropoff when the other ones are in. They’ve obviously recruited well, they’ve got some depth. That’s key at this point. You’re gonna have guys get banged up, you’re gonna have things happen. A lot of times the four teams who are here are here because, yeah, your first 11 are pretty good but most of the times we’ve got some quality depth behind and we’re able to win with great players out. For whatever reason your able to plug the league and keep churning. LSU’s been able to do that at running back from what we’ve been able to see and we’ve been able to see that at multiple positions too.”
