The Boston Celtics needed a bigger forward, Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens let us know earlier in the 2023-24 NBA season, and if you squint, they may well have gotten their man. After having traded deep reserve forward Lamar Stevens and a pair of second round picks for Memphis Grizzlies backup big man Xavier Tillman, Sr., word on the street was that Boston was still in the mix for more deals.
At least, that is, until the word on the street was that they were not. Smokescreen or accurate appraisal, we can begin to take a look at the Celtics roster, and see if the Tillman trade has left any holes in an otherwise stacked roster.
