Brooklyn Nets guard Lonnie Walker IV comes to a Brooklyn team most likely as the backup to either Mikal Bridges or Cam Johnson due to Walker’s ability to spend some time as a forward as well. Walker, who signed a one-year, $2.34 million contract this summer with the Nets, is willing to do whatever it takes to make the team a contender in the Eastern Conference.
Walker, the 18th overall pick by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2018 NBA Draft, has been in the league for the past five seasons (four with the Spurs) and during that time, he has shown flashes of what he can do when given a consistent role for a team. For his career, Walker has averaged 9.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game while shooting 42.2% from the field and 34.9% from three-point land.
The good thing about bringing Walker to Brooklyn is that he should have a role that he is comfortable with given the fact that he has spent the majority of his career as a reserve. With that being said, here’s what can be expected from Walker this upcoming season:
