What Jayson Tatum’s recent interview told us about the Boston Celtics’ 2023-24 season

The man who conducted the interview, Jeff Goodman, on what we can learn from Tatum’s perspective on his future in Boston.

By now, most fans of the Boston Celtics have cast eyes on the far-ranging new interview with star Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, a rare bright spot in the 2023 NBA offseason news cycle that was brought to us by The Messenger reporter Jeff Goodman. But the backstory of how that interview came to be in the first place — as well as the stuff that did not make it into the published piece — has not gotten the same attention until now.

On the eponymous CLNS Media “Bob Ryan, Jeff Goodman, and Gary Tanguay” podcast, Goodman opened up to his cohosts about the interview, his long ties to the St. Louis native, and what he will expect out of Tatum and the Celtics in the season to come.

Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what Goodman had to say about Boston’s rising superstar.
