What is Greg Newsome II hinting at?

The Browns are set to take on the Cowboys in Week 1, and it looks like they’ll be getting Greg Newsome II back on the field.

As the Cleveland Browns get set to take on the Dallas Cowboys in their Week 1 matchup, cornerback Greg Newsome II seems to be hinting at his return to the field.

Suffering a groin injury away from the facility, Newsome II was placed on the Non-Football Injury list at the start of training camp and did not practice all summer long. Slated to enter his third season as the starting nickel cornerback in Cleveland, the Browns need to get him on the field against the talented wide receivers the Cowboys will throw against them.

As the Browns are making decisions to trim their roster, Newsome II tweeted out a gif including some exciting dance moves. This seems to indicate his return is near.

However, the timing as the Browns are looking to get their roster down from 90 players to 53 is a bit concerning as well. There were rumors that teams like the Detroit Lions had called about potentially acquiring Newsome at the start of the new league year. Could the Browns have traded their former first round pick to clear a space in a crowded cornerback room?

What hinders this thought, however, is that Newsome II cannot be traded while he is on the NFI list. More than likely, Newsome II is hinting at his return to the field after having surgery on his groin at the start of training camp.
