What is a draft mistake the Vikings should avoid?

What is an NFL draft mistake that you want the Minnesota Vikings to avoid in 2021?

Minnesota has had a knack for finding talent in rookie classes. Adam Thielen and Anthony Harris were undrafted free agents. Even Danielle Hunter was taken in the third round.

But — like most NFL teams and sports franchises in general — the Vikings have their share of misses.

Bleacher Report recently listed something that Minnesota should avoid. The outlet named a draft mistake that each NFL team should avoid. Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox thinks the Vikings can’t ignore the secondary. Here’s what he wrote:

“Drafting a cornerback prospect like Patrick Surtain II or South Carolina’s Jaycee Horn would make a ton of sense at No. 14. If the Vikings aren’t willing to consider a cornerback that high, they could target a safety like TCU’s Trevor Moehrig, trade back and select a defensive back or prioritize the secondary on Day 2.”

I like Horn as a prospect, but I also think the Vikings have more glaring needs than cornerback at the moment. It’s tough, because the secondary could use some revamping, especially if Harris signs elsewhere. Still, Minnesota needs to prioritize its defensive and offensive line before the secondary and hope that players like Jeff Gladney and Cameron Dantzler take leaps in their second seasons.
