For much of the recent history of the Boston Celtics, the absence of a two-man game has been evident. The club has tended to favor a more free-flowing, read-and-react style of offense.
But what if the Celtics elected to incorporate it into their style of play under head coach Joe Mazzulla? The goal would be to expand the potential range of useful offensive weapons at Boston’s disposal next season.
This is exactly the question explored at length in a recent episode of the “Locked On Celtics” podcast, which features host John Karalis talking us through what such a scenario might look like in practice, using the examples of big man Robert Williams III and his All-NBA teammate Jayson Tatum.
