Things for the Miami Heat appeared to be going well on Thursday. The team had a 23-point lead over the Milwaukee Bucks, shots were falling and morale looked to be high at the VISA Athletic Center.
The Heat hit halftime leading 73-56 as rookie Tyler Herro had a team-high 16 points after Miami went 13-of-24 from 3-point range during the first half. The game appeared to be heading toward a lopsided result but, then, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton happened.
The Bucks’ two All-Stars combined to score 36 points in the second half, nearly topping the Heat’s 43 points scored by themselves. The Bucks held the Heat to just 31.7% shooting from the field as they outscored Miami 74-43 in the second half to win the game, 130-116.
The reigning MVP totaled 33 points, 12 rebounds and four assists while Middleton matched his 33 points to lead the Bucks. Duncan Robinson led the Heat with 21 points as Herro finished with 20 points in the loss without Jimmy Butler and Goran Dragic.
The scene on social media for Heat fans quickly turned from having a blast at a party to instantly regretting going out as the mood shifted quite drastically in the second half. The fans hit social media accordingly to vent their frustration.

The Bucks comeback today showed me that they’re going to be TOUGH to beat 4 out of 7 games. Miami absolutely tore them up in the 1st half

Overall, though, the Heat played without two of their best players and figure to be a challenging team to face once the playoffs begin. The matchup between the Heat and Bucks could be a potential series in the playoffs, which, if Thursday was any indication, projects to be highly entertaining.
The Heat return to action on Saturday vs. the Phoenix Suns.
