The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off the most successful three-year run in franchise history, but they’re now heading into a daunting offseason full of big question marks, none more important than what to do at quarterback.
Tom Brady has retired (again, for good, we think), and Blaine Gabbert is a free agent who isn’t expected to re-sign with the team after the overhaul on the offensive coaching staff.
That leaves third-year passer Kyle Trask as the only quarterback under contract in Tampa Bay for the 2023 season.
At his introductory press conference Wednesday, new Bucs offensive coordinator Dave Canales shared his thoughts on Trask:

Trask may be the only guy in the quarterback room for the Bucs right now, but that obviously won’t be the case when the season begins. Tampa Bay will likely bring in at least one (if not two) veterans to compete with Trask for the starting job, and spending a late-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft on another young quarterback shouldn’t be out of the question.
Either way, it seems like Canales is excited to work with the former second-round pick out of Florida, and hopefully maximize his skill set, should he end up being the team’s Week 1 starter.
