What can LSU do defensively to take down Florida?

The LSU defense has struggled this season, but has a chance to right the wrongs against Florida this weekend.

Stop the run

LSU has had trouble stopping the run all season long. The Gators average 126.2 rushing yards per game.

Florida isn’t a very solid rushing team, which gives LSU an advantage. The Gators’ top rusher for the season is Dameon Pierce with 85 carries for 417 yards and just three touchdowns.

Should the Tigers have to rely on stopping the run in this game to keep it close, the defense just might be able to contain Pierce and Malik Davis enough in the backfield to get stops.
