The Boston Celtics have recently signed Brandon Slater to a training camp contract he was waived to get into a G League spot, along with a few other players set to head to the Maine Celtics this season.
Slater, who went unselected in the 2023 NBA draft, had spent five seasons at Villanova, including a super senior year due to the COVID pandemic. During his time playing at Villanova, the former Wildcat averaged 9.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game, with shooting percentages of 45% from the field and 34.7% from beyond the arc. Brandon Slater, who just turned 24 years old, joined the Celtics with the hope of making an impact in the G-League and potentially earning a spot on the regular roster.
