What are Chargers’ current odds to win AFC West in 2020?

The Los Angeles Chargers look to win the division for the first time since 2009.

Despite finishing last in the AFC West last season, a handful of analysts believe that the Chargers have what it takes to go from worst to first in the upcoming season.

But what do the oddsmakers think?

Even though the odds will change as we get into the midst of season and it will also vary depending on the betting site, Los Angeles currently has the second-best odds to win the division, per BetMGM.

By no surprise, the reigning Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs have the highest odds (-455). Behind L.A. are the Denver Broncos (+900). Finally, the Las Vegas Raiders have the fourth-best odds (+1200).

Making the playoffs is a plus, but dethroning the Chiefs is the ultimate goal. Kansas City has dominated, as they have gone 27-3 against AFC West teams since 2015 and have claimed four straight division titles.

Heading into the new season, the Bolts have the majority of the talent intact from last season, but they received some reinforcements with tackle Bryan Bulaga, guard Trai Turner, cornerback Chris Harris Jr. and defensive tackle Linval Joseph and some through the draft, including a new quarterback.

Even though they have the pieces in place, the most vital key to any kind of success for them is their health. Like last year, if they can’t stay injury-free it’ll be hard to them to be competitive. If they do, they’re capable of making some serious noise, possibly en route to their first AFC West title since 2009.
