The offensive line has been a huge part of the offseason chatter around Auburn football.
It sounds like they struggled against the Auburn defensive front in the first scrimmage of fall camp Saturday night. Between the starting offensive line that was reported Saturday night and the newest edition of the first group from Tuesday’s practice, Tashawn Manning was excluded in both of those groups.
Manning was one of, if not the best offensive linemen on Auburn’s team from a year ago by my eye test. I wanted to see if I was crazy or not so I went to look at what the analytics said.
I took the key offensive linemen from Auburn’s 2020 season and looked at how PFF scored their run and pass blocking from a year ago.
Manning and Brandon Council stood out to PFF as the best linemen from a year ago.
