What an all-Wisconsin NFL defensive starting lineup would look like

Yesterday I put together an all-Wisconsin Badger NFL offensive starting lineup, a unit headlined by Russell Wilson, Melvin Gordon…

Cornerback: Sojourn Shelton, Nick Nelson

Yes, Nick Nelson was recently waived by the Las Vegas Raiders after they signed veteran cornerback Prince Amukamara. For the sake of fielding a full defense Nelson needs to be included in the starting lineup, as him and Shelton are the only former Badger cornerbacks currently in the NFL.

Not much can be said about the two players as, aside from Nelson starting three games in 2017, they haven’t seen the field much since they entered the NFL.

Shelton is currently the No. 4 cornerback on the depth chart in Arizona while, as discussed earlier, Nelson was recently waived and is without an NFL home for the time being.

They would need to work well with the two safeties, also two players without much NFL experience, as they work to shut down the passing attack of opposing teams.
