Michigan State hockey defeated Western Michigan in the Great Lakes Invitational to win their first GLI championship since 2009. Western Michigan, who came into the game ranked No. 4 in the country, fell to the top team in the nation, with the Spartans bolstering a No. 1 overall ranking.
