“We’re going through the matchups and he’s like, ‘Ryan, you’ve got Jordan,’” Bowen recalled. “I’m like, ‘Wait a minute? I’m going to start against him?’” Jordan, then just a month from his 40th birthday, scored 25 points that night. He didn’t jump like he once did. He didn’t have the same speed. But he was still undeniably Jordan, and facing him for that final time is a memory Bowen will always keep close, if only because his kids always bring it up. “They want to know more about that than anything else I did,” Bowen, now 44, said with a laugh.
