UNLV is still in second place despite losing its two first place votes. This week Boise State and San Jose State each earned first place votes but it is still Air Force in a commanding lead.
The Broncos have been the most volatile team all year. They have been in first place, seventh place, fourth place and probably a few other spots this year through six of these polls.
Utah State in its loss to BYU did move up a spot as they showed fairly well in Cooper Legas and his debut start, but our staff is still hedging on how good the Aggies could be.
12. Hawaii (LW: 12)
Yes, the Warriors lost but they showed some solid defense, especially slowing down the San Diego State ground game in the 16-14 loss. The first FBS win will come soon, maybe.
11. Nevada (LW: 10)
Their defense did the job vs. Colorado State by allowing just three points but the offense turned it over twice which directly lead to a pair of Colorado State touchdowns.
10. Colorado State (LW: 11)
They won the Norvell Bowl but the offense needs a lot of work and we mean a lot of work. Defensively, they made plays for the win.
9. New Mexico (LW: 8)
The Lobos parted ways with the offensive coordinator Derek Warehime after the poor performance this past week against Wyoming.
7. Fresno State (LW: 6)
Yikes, they really need Jake Haener back on the field.
6. San Diego State (LW: 7)
Hey! the QB turned safety and back to QB Jalen Mayden who had a huge game. It was vs. Hawaii but the Aztecs really needed a win after suffering back-to-back losses.
5. Wyoming (LW: 5)
Beating New Mexico is fine but the bigger issue is Andrew Peasley back to throwing poorly.
5. Utah State (LW: 8)
There seems to be something brewing in Logan with QB Cooper Legas taking over and they had a solid win over Air Force. Our voters rewarded them up three spots.
4. UNLV (LW: 2)
They got whipped by San Jose State as both sides of the ball failed to show up. The next game will be huge to see how the Rebels respond.
3. Air Force (LW: 1)
Are the Falcons falling out of favor? They lost to Utah State and now look a bit more human with a pair of weird losses in addition to the Wyoming game a few weeks later.
2. Boise State (LW: 4, 1 first-place vote)
An offensive coordinator change with Dirk Koetter seemingly fixed a lot of things.
1. San Jose State (LW: 10, 9 first-place vote)
A dominant win over a solid UNLV team puts the Spartans up here as the best team in the league.
