You can celebrate Eli Manning getting a win in what is probably his final home game as a member of the New York Giants.
The problem is that Big Blue was one game ahead of some other similarly terrible teams, and now they’re 3-11 along with the Miami Dolphins and Washington Redskins. The Cincinnati Bengals are still ahead in the Be Bad for Burrow race at 1-13, but there are scenarios in which they could drop.
There’s a cool wrinkle to that Giants win even if it means they’re in the mix to drop out of the No. 2 spot (they’re currently stuck there because of their strength of schedule tiebreaker): all four of the teams battling for top spots in the draft will face each other in Week 16.
The Benglas face the Dolphins in Miami on Sunday, and the Giants and Redskins play in FedEx Field. Another win for the Giants wouldn’t be good for their positioning, but the Skins aren’t exactly a tough opponent at the moment despite the way they played on Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
There are other games with HUGE implications involving others in the top 10, including the 3-10-1 Detroit Lions:
Week 16 will have major implications for the 2020 Draft:
• Bengals (1-11) vs Dolphins (3-11)
• Giants (3-11) vs Washington (3-11)
• Lions (3-10-1) vs Broncos (5-9)
• Jaguars (4-9) vs Falcons (4-9)Buckle up folks
