Week 16 fantasy football studs, duds and sleepers: Jameis Winston could win you a title

Some starts and sits for championship week.

Week 16 of the 2019 NFL season is here, and that means … IT’S CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK! A win this week and you’re taking home a title.

As always, we’re here to help with your weekly decisions with our fantasy lineup advice. Each week, we give you the studs (players with plus matchups due to the defense they’re facing or their team situation), duds (players with tougher matchups or who are in muddled roster situations at the moment) and sleepers (a player you might consider starting who could be in for a big week).

Here are the names we’ve got for Week 16, and as we always say (and especially this week), good luck!!

Studs

QB Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It’s hard not to pick an obvious option, and it’s pretty awesome that Winston now can be considered an obvious option — he just keeps throwing for huge yardage, negating his interceptions. He’ll continue his run this week against the Texans.

RB Joe Mixon, Cincinnati Bengals

Have you noticed how good he’s been lately? He totaled 156 yards AGAINST THE PATRIOTS!! He has a much better matchup this week against the Dolphins, so he could be in for another huge day.

WR Amari Cooper, Dallas Cowboys

You know how bad the Eagles’ secondary is. And although Cooper’s second half hasn’t been as good as his first, this is a spot to trust him in.

TE Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens

He looked fine even if he’s dealing with injuries. If you benched him in the short week against the Jets on Thursday, start him now.

QB Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

He threw three interceptions the last time he faced the Patriots and he’s looked ordinary against good defenses in the Ravens and Steelers. If you need a quarterback in your title game, look elsewhere.

RB Le’Veon Bell, New York Jets

I just can’t trust him even though there’s a revenge game storyline this week with the vet facing his old team, the Steelers.

WR Julian Edelman, New England Patriots

I don’t know if I can start him when he looked hobbled last week and didn’t produce much … and the matchup against the Bills (he had 30 yards against them in Week 3) isn’t great. You may not be able to bench him, so don’t expect a great statline.

TE Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts

I can’t start him after two straight terrible performances, plain and simple, and I actually see some streaming options (see one below) I like better.

Sleepers

QB Philip Rivers, Los Angeles Chargers

He tossed three INTs against the Raiders in Week 10, but he could have a better day against them at home.

RB Patrick Laird, Miami Dolphins

The Bengals are horrible against the run and he’s still seeing targets in the passing game.

WR Breshad Perriman, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Someone needs to catch all those passes from Winston and it’s going to be him. If you’re

TE Jacob Hollister, Seattle Seahawks

He’s the tight end starting against the Cardinals, which means he might actually be more of a stud than a sleeper, but I’ll put him here because he’s been just okay in recent weeks.
