The Alabama Crimson Tide last made an appearance in the AP Poll in Week 4, and each week since then has been a fight back. In the Week 12 AP Poll, the Tide come up just short of the Top 25 as they are the team receiving the fourth most votes.
The Tide wrapped up non-conference play with a record of 8-5, however, it’s a bit deceiving as Alabama played arguably the toughest schedule in the country. Some of their losses came at the hands of some very good teams like Arizona, Creighton and Purdue.
The Tide started to settle in a little bit more in conference play as they raced out to a 4-0 start and a share of the lead in the SEC. Unfortunately, that came to a crashing halt on Saturday as No. 6 Tennessee thumped Alabama 91-71 in Knoxville. The Volunteers are a really solid team as they jumped to No. 5 this week, so there is no cause for concern, but Nate Oats and company will have to get back to the drawing board a little bit.
It’s a big week for the Tide though with No. 8 Auburn coming to town on Wednesday followed by a a visit from the LSU Tigers on Saturday.
