The Cleveland Browns went into the 2023 season banking on Jerome Ford to take over the 158 touches left behind by Kareem Hunt (who is expected to sign with the New Orleans Saints). However, that increase in the role is now on hold as a hamstring injury has cast doubt on Ford’s Week 1 status against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Leaving practice yesterday, Cleveland dot com’s Mary Kay Cabot has reported that Ford is expected to be sidelined for some time, which could bleed into the regular season. This came after the news that other 2022 NFL draftmates Alex Wright and Isaiah Thomas had undergone arthroscopic knee surgery and are expected to miss an undisclosed amount of time as well.
A rough break for Ford and the others from his draft class.
