The Zips fumbled their way to a 1-5 record last season with the lone victory being a 31-3 rout of Bowling Green. In fact, that is Akron’s only win in the previous 23 regular-season games.

The Tigers came up short against Northwestern in the Citrus Bowl 35-19. Auburn lost three of its final four games last season, and five games overall. This will be Auburn’s first game against a MAC team since a 55-16 win over Kent State Sept. 14, 2019.
