‘We gotta coach them better, and execute better.’ Jimbo Fisher, once again, shoulders the blame after Texas A&M’s loss to Tennessee

For the second straight week, Jimbo Fisher shouldered the blame as Texas A&M dropped back-to-back games.

In what ultimately proved to be a sequel performance from the week prior, Texas A&M (4-3, 2-2 SEC) dropped their second-consecutive game in a 20-13 loss to No. 19 Tennessee (5-1, 2-1 SEC). The offense and defense played similarly to last week, and eerily enough, Jimbo Fisher’s postgame echoed the same tune from a week ago.

Despite another inspired effort from A&M’s defense, who allowed just one true scoring drive from the Vols, the Aggies offense again failed to capitalize on the opportunity. In many ways, the Maroon and White continuously hampered themselves with befuddling bad snaps, poor offensive execution, and, yes, poor pass protection.

It should come as no surprise then that Jimbo Fisher, who has still yet to win a true SEC road game since 2021, produced many of the same soundbites following last week’s loss to No. 11 Alabama. Most notably, it falls on him and his coaching staff to better prepare this team for the challenge ahead.

That may sound all well and good, but in the eyes of Aggies fans who are growing tired of the same excuses week after week, it only serves as more fuel for the Fisher’s seat that is getting warmer as the season rolls along.

Below is Jimbo Fisher’s full postgame press conference after falling 20-13 to Tennessee, as well as notable highlights from his time at the podium.
