Have the Celtics shown enough to be considered dark horse Finals participants?

When the national NBA media starts taking note of the Boston Celtics in a way departing from their usually pessimistic frames, it might be time to start believing in the team’s potential too. The hosts of The Ringer “Mismatch” podcast Kevin O’Connor and Chris Vernon recently debated whether the Celtics are potentially shaping up to be dark horse title contenders who might grind their way to a 2022 NBA Finals appearance on the strength of their recent play.

With a few notable exceptions, Boston has been steamrolling through its schedule in the second half of the season, winning 15 of their last 18 games with no consecutive losses in that span.
