It might seem like every time an opposing general manager stubs his toe, fans and analysts of the Boston Celtics alike start plotting a trade for the best player on their team to move the Celtics along in their goal of hanging their next banner.
But what if the team already has all of the players it will need to compete for championships for years to come, only awaiting a little more growth in the games of their two primary stars, forwards Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum? If the former added some ball movement to his game and the latter got to the free throw line just a few more times per game, how close would this team be to contending?
Hosts of the NBC Sports Boston podcast “Celtics Talk” Chris Forsberg and Amina Jade recently explored this very topic, offering up their takes on what the All-Star duo needs to add to their game to truly take Boston to the next level.
