WATCH: What can we learn from the Boston Celtics opener loss to the New York Knicks?

Is it too small a sample size to be meaningful?

With most teams in the NBA still trying to get their bearings several games into the regular season, it is an uphill battle to find a lot of meaning in the sole contest the Boston Celtics have played in their 2021-22 season schedule to date, a double-overtime loss to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden that saw the Celtics go into the red to start the season.

But there are hints of things that need work, and flashes of things that looked great — as well as issues to watch lest they become patterns. What can we take away from a game that saw recently unquarantined Jaylen Brown score a career-high 46 points on the same night we saw his fellow All-Star teammate Jayson Tatum have a historically bad shooting performance?

The hosts of the CLNS Media podcast “Winning Plays” Rich Levine and Brian Robb team up with NBC Sports Boston’s Chris Forsberg to discuss what (if anything) can be gleaned from this one game.

Watch the clip embedded above to hear their takes on this and a host of related issues.
