Was former Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge fired from his position as team president of the franchise he won titles with as a player and executive?
At the time of his abrupt exit, there had been some speculation that his decision to step back from the game was due more to his recent ill luck with the team than his professed desire to avoid long days working to improve the team. Now, less than six months from when he stepped down as Celtics team president, Ainge is taking on a similar role with the Utah Jazz. The rapid turnaround from his Boston gig to this one has analysts questioning whether his exit from the Celtics organization was entirely voluntary.
Did he leave with the team’s support this summer? Or was he given a chance to save face given all he has done in the past for the Celtics?
