During “Spartan Grind Week” in East Lansing, Michigan State basketball invited back a flurry of notable alums, including a member of the Golden State Warriors.
Draymond Green joined several other NBA players in a return to East Lansing for a workout and more with legendary college basketball coach Tom Izzo.
Along with Golden State’s former Defensive Player of the Year, fellow NBA players like Chicago Bulls forward Denzel Valentine, Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges, Memphis Grizzlies forwards Jaren Jackson Jr., and Xavier Tillman participated in Spartan Grind Week.
Following a workout at the basketball facility, the players attended Michigan State’s football contest against Youngstown State. With Green and others in the building at Spartan Stadium, Michigan State surged to a blowout victory over Youngstown State. Sophomore quarterback Payton Thorne threw for 280 yards and four touchdown passes on the way to Michigan State’s 42-14 win in East Lansing.
