Thursday was a big day for the UNC football program as they continue preparation for Saturday’s game against Syracuse.
Early in the afternoon the NCAA released a statement saying they have grated a waiver for wide receiver Tez Walker to become eligible immediately, allowing him to play on Saturday and the rest of the season. It’s great news for the Charlotte native who was previously ruled ineligible and then denied a waiver by the NCAA.
As North Carolina received the news, they filmed head coach Mack Brown and wide receivers coach Lonnie Galloway sharing the news with Walker.

Galloway tried to be sneaky and tell Walker that another appeal was denied but Brown eventually shared the good news with Walker who looked like he couldn’t believe it at first.
It’s unknown how much Walker will play on Saturday but Drake Maye and the offense gets another weapon.
