Watch: Trevor Lawrence spoils scoring chance with awful pick

Another trip to the red zone wasted.

The Jacksonville Jaguars racked up plenty of yardage in the first half of Week 5 against the Houston Texans and made two trips to the red zone, but failed to score a touchdown. The second half started the same way, as the Jaguars drove deep into Houston territory before an interception ended the chance to take the lead.

After starting the drive three-for-three for 52 yards, Trevor Lawrence rolled to his right on a second-and-one inside the 10-yard line. Lawrence looked for wide receiver Zay Jones in the back of the end zone and never saw 2022 third overall pick Derek Stingley Jr. waiting in the corner.

After the interception, the Jaguars offense was up to 304 total yards and had just six points to show for it. The pick was the third of the season for Lawrence, who finished a pair of blowout wins in Weeks 2 and 3 interception-free.

The interception was the first in Stingley’s career.
