Tennessee will open its 2024 season on Feb. 16 versus Texas Tech (8 p.m. EST) in the Shriners Children’s College Baseball Showdown presented by Kubota.
The Shriners Children’s College Baseball Showdown will take place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, home of Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers.
Tennessee, Baylor, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas Tech are part of the field. The Vols will also play Oklahoma on Saturday, while facing Baylor on Sunday.
2024 will be the seventh season for Tennessee under head coach Tony Vitello.
Vitello has compiled a 235–99 (87–63 SEC) record from 2018-23 at Tennessee. The Vols won the Southeastern Conference regular-season and tournament championships in 2022, while advancing to College World Series in 2021 and 2023.
