The release of “Madden NFL 24” player ratings, which will begin on Monday, July 17, will no doubt cause a wide range of reactions throughout social media, as they do every year.
Some really buy into the excitement and see the fun in the rollout of ratings, while others think this is one of the more pointless and overhyped parts of the offseason.
Regardless of where you personally stand, there’s no denying that the initial ratings release is starting to turn into more and more of a spectacle with each passing year.
When it comes to the rookie running backs, the video game decided to do something a little different.
The team at EA Sports decided to hook each of the rookies up to some sort of lie detector while they were told their ratings for the very first time in a variety of different categories, while also filming it.
Titans rookie running back Tyjae Spears was among those in attendance, and it was revealed to him that he is starting out with a 78 break tackle rating, which was the only mark revealed in the video.
The Titans’ third-round selection tried to downplay his feelings about the rating by saying that he’ll get it up, but the light subsequently turned red, indicating that he’s not nearly as content as he’s trying to portray.
Spears’ overall rating wasn’t released in the video, but don’t get your hopes up in regard to seeing a high number whenever it does.
Rookies usually fall somewhere in that 50-79 range, so it’s a safe bet that a third-round running back such as the Tulane product will probably fall somewhere in the middle of that.
