One of the most exciting fighters in UFC history makes his final walk this weekend in Las Vegas.
Former UFC welterweight champion [autotag]Robbie Lawler[/autotag] is on the verge of retirement, but has one more fight ahead of him at UFC 290.
In what will be his 25th UFC bout, Lawler (29-16 MMA, 14-10 UFC) will meet Niko Price (15-6 MMA, 7-6 UFC) in the feature prelim at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, marking the end of an incredible pro career that began in 2001.
Ahead of the contest, the promotion released a tribute video to Lawler’s career, which is filled with knockouts and highlights against the best the sport had to offer in EliteXC, Strikeforce, and UFC.
“I’ve been doing this for a long time, fighting pretty much my whole life,” Lawler said in the video. “I just love competing and I love what I do. It’s play to me.”
Glowing quotes from UFC president Dana White are in the video as well.
“Robbie Lawler is built different than most people,” White said. “An absolute savage. He always goes in an throws everything with bad intentions. When you talk about what fight fans like to see, Robbie Lawler embodied all of that.”
