Wisconsin has one of the best traditions in college football. At the end of the third quarter, Camp Randall knows exactly what to do.
Jump Around hits the Camp Randall speakers and the city of Madison creates a manmade earthquake for a few heavenly minutes. It’s something that even inspires the opposing fans and teams to join in.
How did Jump Around start? How did a House of Pain song become Madison’s anthem? Fox College Football did a segment last season on how Jump Around came to be. It all clicked one day for the Wisconsin sports marketing team. Here is the story:
College Football Traditions: The Badger marketing team was looking for “high energy” songs to get the crowd involved between quarters. Wisconsin started using Jump Around by House of Pain at the start of the fourth quarter in 1998, and it’s been used ever since. pic.twitter.com/cY3l3FbtRJ
