Fans of the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders were on the edge of their seats while they viewed the incredibly long fourth quarter in Sunday’s NFC East matchup at Northwest Stadium.
The Commanders made a dramatic late-game comeback against the Cowboys when quarterback Jayden Daniels hit wide receiver Terry McLaurin for a long touchdown that pulled Washington within a point of Dallas.
But, when Commander’s kicker Austin Seibert missed his extra point attempt after McLaurin’s score, the Cowboys kept their one-point advantage.
Dallas took advantage of a botched onside kick in the final seconds of the game to extend their lead when Juanyeh Thomas made a slick recovery that led to a nifty return touchdown.
Take a look at the footage of the ending, which was posted on YouTube by the NFL after the game:
Expect both the Cowboys and Commanders to bring an extra edge to their next meeting on January 5 after this insane finish in Week 12.
