You would never have guessed that Boston Celtics All-Star forward Jaylen Brown had just spent 10 of the last 11 days in the league’s health and safety protocols after scoring a career-high (and franchise-record for season openers) 46 points against the New York Knicks in a 138 – 134 double-overtime loss.
“My breathing felt irregular but fine for the most part,” shared the Cal-Berkeley product about how he felt health-wise after the game. “Toward the end, I could feel my heart beating through my chest.” Asked how he managed to stay on the floor for as many minutes as he scored points, Brown explained that the “adrenaline kind of took over.”
That is probably something of an understatement given it was truly an all-time Celtics performance, COVID-19 quarantine recovery or not. Watch the video embedded below to catch Brown’s postgame comments following his absolutely massive game, courtesy of CLNS Media’s YouTube channel.
